Schizophrenia: Organizations that Help

These are just a few of the many organizations that help people with schizophrenia. If you or someone you know is struggling with schizophrenia, there is help available. Please reach out to one of these organizations or another mental health resource in your community.

American Psychiatric Association
The American Psychiatric Association is the country’s premier psychiatric organization that advances mental health as part of general health and well-being.

Bring Change 2 Mind (BC2M)
BC2M’s mission is to end the stigma and discrimination surrounding mental illness and to encourage a diverse cultural conversation around mental health.

The Cleveland Clinic
Cleveland Clinic is the world’s first integrated international health system. With more than 65,000 caregivers worldwide, Cleveland Clinic has almost 6 million patient visits per year, at more than 200 locations.

Mental Health America (MHA)
MHA is a community-based mental health organization dedicated to promoting mental health and preventing mental illness. MHA provides advocacy, education, and support to individuals, families, and communities.

National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI)
NAMI is a grassroots mental health organization dedicated to building better lives for the millions of Americans affected by mental illness. NAMI provides support, advocacy, education, and public awareness.

National Institute of Mental Health
The National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) is the lead federal agency for research on mental disorders. NIMH is one of the 27 Institutes and Centers that make up the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the largest biomedical research agency in the world. NIH is part of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

The Schizophrenia & Psychosis Action Alliance is dedicated to creating a movement for systemic change to improve care, support and equity for the millions of people living with schizophrenia and psychosis spectrum disorders.

Treatment Advocacy Center (TAC)
TAC is a national non-profit organization that works to improve the lives of people with serious mental illness by promoting the right to treatment and recovery. TAC also works to reduce the use of coercion and involuntary treatment.
