HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) is a retrovirus that can cause the breakdown of a person’s immune system, the body’s natural defense against disease. Contracting the HIV virus leads in many cases to the development of the disease known as AIDS (Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome).

Greater Than HIV offers information in English and Spanish, about HIV and STD basics, testing, prevention and treatment. Greater Than HIV works with health departments and community partners to reach those most affected with the latest information on HIV testing, prevention and treatment.
